Drew Arellano undergoes vasectomy after fifth child with Iya Villania: 'Snip Snip'

It looks like Drew Arellano is finally calling it quits—on expanding his family, that is.

On his Instagram account, the actor and host revealed that he has now undergone a vasectomy after recently welcoming his fifth child with his wife Iya Villania

Drew could be seen in a hospital gown and a medical scrub cap as he made a funny face after the procedure.

"Happy late and advanced Mother’s Day to my wife," he captioned the post.

"HappyVA-SEC-TO-MEEE," he continued, adding the hashtags "#snipsnip" and "#SarapYungSedativeAh."

According to Mayo Clinic, a vasectomy is a type of birth control that prevents sperm from being released during sex through cutting and sealing the tubes that carry it.

While it's possible to reverse a vasectomy, it is considered a "form of birth control that lasts for life," which is why those who are thinking of getting it must be sure that they no longer want to start a pregnancy in the future.

Because of this big decision, many of Drew's followers praised him for going through the procedure for his wife.

"Sana ma-normalize yung ganito sa Pinas. Sa babae na ang hirap ng pagbubuntis at panganganak kaya sana sa lalaki naman ang family planning," one user commented.

Another shared the same sentiment, "Thank you Drew for setting an example, hindi siya kabawasan sa pagkalalaki dahil ang tunay na lalaki, iniisip ang kapakanan ng pamilya. Salute sayo!"

Drew and Iya became a family of seven after welcoming their fifth baby, Anya Love, in February this year.

The pair tied the knot in 2014. They share four kids: Primo, who was born in 2016, followed by Leon in 2018, Alana in 2020, and Astro in 2022.
