Klarisse de Guzman joins cast of 'Bar Boys' sequel
Pinoy Big Brother alum Klarisse de Guzman is joining the cast of the sequel to the hit 2017 film Bar Boys.
In an exclusive, Cinema Bravo announced that the singer will play the breadwinner sister of a law student in Bar Boys: After School. Klarisse is also joining her fellow PBB Collab alum Will Ashley in the upcoming film.
Klarisse's character is described as "hilarious, optimistic, and a hopeless romantic," according to Cinema Bravo. She's the "support system" of a law school study group and the fan club president of former teleserye leading man and current law student, Josh Zuniga, who is played by Kian Cipriano.
Rocco Nacino, Carlo Aquino, and Enzo Pineda will also return in the film to reprise their roles alongside new cast members, including Will Ashley, Sassa Gurl, Therese Malvar, and Glaiza De Castro.
In a post on March 2, director Kip Oebanda shared a summary of the sequel, adding that there will be new students and that the main characters aren't all "boys."
"A law school barkada's [10th]-year reunion becomes bittersweet when they find out that one of their beloved mentors is deathly ill, all alone, and abandoned by the family. They take the place of the said family. In return, they learn lessons that only life and the passage of time can teach—about integrity, self-improvement, and finding meaning in what you do," it read.
Bar Boys, released in 2017, starred Rocco, Carlo, Enzo, and Kian as a group of friends who aspire to be lawyers. A musical version hit the stage in 2024.
Before joining PBB, Klarisse was a singer-songwriter who placed second in the first season of The Voice of the Philippines in 2013. She also won the third season of Your Face Sounds Familiar in 2021.
