It's your time to shine! Theatre Group Asia announced that it will hold auditions for its upcoming musical, A Chorus Line, which is set to be staged in the Philippines in 2026.

If you're a performer who is 18 years or older, TGA is looking for you to join the lead and ensemble cast.

The auditions will be conducted on-site and will be held in different locations.

While online submission is allowed, it's recommended to attend face-to-face, as TGA said that in-person auditions will be prioritized in the selection process. This will allow the team to "fully experience each performer’s presence, energy, and artistry in real time."

The dates and location are as follows:

  • September 6 - Manila - Samsung Performing Arts Theater (Sign up here)
  • September 13 - Cebu – stay tuned for venue announcement (Sign up here)
  • September 20 - Bacolod - Ayala Malls Capitol Central, Function Hall 1, The Central Hall, Gatuslao St., Bacolod City (Sign up here)
  • October 11 - Davao - Locsin Dance Workshop, 89 Elpidio Quirino Ave, Poblacion District, Davao City, 8000 (Sign up here)
  • October 25 - Manila - Samsung Performing Arts Theater (Sign up here)

Don't just bring your singing and dancing A-game, TGA is also looking for applicants who are familiar with the story and characters of A Chorus Line and have a strong dance background in ballet, jazz, or modern.

Applicants must prepare two 32-bar song cuts (one fast, one slow) of any genre, and an acting monologue from the musical. Still not familiar with the characters? You can find all the roles available for audition on their website.

Auditioners will be taught one dance combination on-site as their dance audition piece. Everyone will be given half a day to master the given choreography. Given that, comfortable clothing is advised. Bring your own dance shoes, water, and snacks, too.

When you arrive, make sure to have your registration form, résumé, and most recent headshot ready to go.

Following the audition, selected finalists will undergo intensive training and creative workshops. Final casting will be made afterwards.

Director and choreographer Karla Puno Garcia shared that she is looking for talent that's "exciting, unique, and individual—performers with a strong sense of self."

"That’s vital to bringing the musical’s characters to life. For those interested, I say: Dance your face off and be a star! Follow your gut, get ready, and go for it! Trust yourself. What you perceive as flaws might just be your superpower. Although we’re looking for an ensemble, each dancer should make the effort to be seen. We want to meet who you are," Garcia said.

The Philippine production of A Chorus Line is based on the original 1975 musical by Michael Bennett, which follows 17 dancers auditioning for spots on a chorus line.
