Man dies after wall falls on him

A construction worker tragically died after a wall fell on him—just six days before his wedding.

Local outlets—including CBS affiliate Cleveland 19 under TV station WOIO—reported that the 23-year-old man in Ohio died in the accident that took place along White Pond Drive in Akron. It happened while he was working on site for a new housing development one afternoon last week.

According to PEOPLE Magazine, the victim was identified as Marcus Miller.

Authorities said that workers reported hearing a wall break down and then saw that he was no longer breathing.

Per Summit County Medical Examiner's chief investigator Gary Guenther, the cause of Miller's death was blunt force trauma to the head.

As stated in his obituary, Miller—who was "known for his easy going personality and ready smile"—was supposed to get married to his partner this week.

He is survived by his fiancee, parents, and siblings.

An investigation on the case is ongoing.
