The media outlet reported that she left her 1-year-old boy in the vehicle for two hours while it was 101 degrees outside. The toddler was there with her 2-year-old child, who survived and is now recovering at the hospital.

Per a police report, the 20-year-old mom "admitted that it was irresponsible to leave her kids in the car, and she thought about it when she got out of the car but had no justification as to why she left them."

Hernandez told authorities that she left the children while the air conditioner was on. She claimed she made sure they had candy, crackers, and milk to eat and drink, as well as a cellphone to keep themselves entertained wih videos.

According to her, she was sure that the car would stay on, noting that she has tried staying there for extended periods before.

Hernandez admitted not checking on her kids for two hours during her spa appointment.

Upon returning to the car, she saw one of them foaming at the mouth and shaking. She immediately performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and sought immediate assistance by calling 911.

The 1-year-old's internal temperature was at 107 degrees when he arrived at the hospital, showing no signs of life. The 2-year-old, meanwhile, had a temperature of 99 degrees and was able to eat and drink. Police said the latter is now in stable condition and has been placed in protective custody.
