Trigger warning: This article has disturbing content, including mentions of suicide.
A mom who documented her husband's cancer journey on TikTok shot the latter to death before doing the same to their two children and then herself.
In a press release, authorities said that the Long family—Emily and Ryan, along with their kids Parker and Ryan—were discovered lifeless inside their residence in New Hampshire early this week.
Per police, initial investigation showed that Emily "took a handgun from the home" that caused their deaths, and then "took her own life immediately thereafter. "
The autopsies of their little ones have been completed by Associate Chief Medical Examiner Abigail Alexander, who ruled that single gunshot wounds on the head caused their deaths. "Their manners of death are homicide," she noted.
Chief Medical Examiner Jennie V. Duval, meanwhile, conducted autopsies on Ryan and Emily. "Dr. Duval determined that Mr. Long's cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds, and his manner of death is homicide," the release read. "Dr. Duval determined that Emily Long’s cause of death was a single gunshot wound of the head, and her manner of death is suicide."
"While investigators are becoming aware of various concerns/issues ongoing in the household at the time of the event in question, people should avoid speculating that this event was caused by a single reason or stressor," authorities noted.
Emily posted about Ryan's brain cancer journey on TikTok. The videos have been set to private since the tragedy.
A motive for the crime is yet to be revealed.
