Tanner Martin laid to rest after announcing his own death; daughter wears outfit that pays tribute to him at his funeral
The wife of social media influencer Tanner Martin, who announced his own death at 30 in a pre-recorded video, paid tribute to him by dressing their newborn daughter in his old shirt.
In an Instagram story, Shay Wright shared a photo of AmyLou wearing a black and white romper with a symbol of the Rebel Alliance from Star Wars.
"Baby girl had daddy's shirt turned into a romper so she could wear it for him yesterday," Wright said in the caption that covered AmyLou's face.

According to an announcement, all those who attended his funeral were invited to "wear something Star Wars in honor of Tanner," including "ties, pins, stickers, our custom Rebels Against cancer shirts with other formal wear."
"Tanner also requested for Star Wars stickers to be placed on his casket. Find your favorite & bring it to his viewing to share your love with him," the announcement read.
Martin died on June 25 five years after he was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. In the years that followed, he documented and shared his journey with the disease.
In his pre-recorded video, he opened with a straightforward message: "Hey, it's me, Tanner. If you're watching this, I am dead."
"Everyone, I had a heck of a life," he added. "I decided to make this video announcing my death because I saw someone did that, like, a year or so ago, and I think it's a good opportunity to get all your thoughts out, and then also, you can be thoughtful about what your spouse or your partner might need."
Martin thanked his followers "for all the love and support" they showed him and Wright. He also asked for prayers and any form of support for his family, especially since they recently welcomed AmyLou, whom they fondly call Jiaozi.
“You guys, life was awesome. I really enjoyed it while I was here," Martin said, adding that he's excited to meet his departed loved ones in the afterlife.
"Death is scary, but it’s also like a new adventure, you know? I’m excited to see what the experience is like, and hopefully it’s good,” he said.
Before his passing, Martin achieved significant milestones. In 2023, he completed his degree in Behavioral Science. He also celebrated his 30th birthday in December 2024 and welcomed AmyLou on May 15.
