'Stop spreading lies about my family': Derek Ramsay dispels claims that Lily is not his daughter
Actor Derek Ramsay has debunked rumours about his family and defended his wife, actress Ellen Adarna, from cheating allegations.
In a now-expired Instagram story, the Kampon actor directly called out a blog site named Showbiz Life 1.0 for alleging that a supposed DNA test had returned negative results, suggesting that Lily is not his daughter.
"Stop spreading lies about my family! Lily is my daughter, and Ellen is a loyal wife. I don't know how you can sleep at night spreading lies like this," he said while posting a screenshot of the fake claims.
Derek also aired his sentiments in a separate IG post about someone who destroys one's image and personality.
"People can destroy your image, damage your personality, create rumours about you but they can never take away your good deeds. Because no matter how they describe you, you will always be admired by those who know you best," the text read.
Derek's sentiments came after the spread of speculations online about his alleged break-up with Ellen when the former went to Bali, Indonesia, for a self-improvement program called Kami No Ken.
He then denied the rumours in a radio interview with Morly Alinio and Gorgy Rula on DZRH. He also asked to respect their privacy as husband and wife, as they had already left showbiz and were no longer celebrities.
"Matagal na akong 'di nag-aartista. Kaya ayoko magsalita sa mga bagay na ganyan. Maayos ang aming samahan ni Ellen," the actor said.
Derek and Ellen tied the knot in November 2021. They exchanged 'I dos' in a mountain resort in Bagac, Bataan, on Nov. 11 and got married again in a Peruvian despacho ceremony led by a local shaman during their first anniversary.
They are enjoying their married life with Elias, Ellen's son with her ex-boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz. The two are also parents to their first baby together, Lily, who was born in October 2024.
