TikTok star found dead with husband and kids in pickup truck
A TikTok star and influencer was found dead at 32 alongside her husband and their two children in a pickup truck in Mexico.
Daily Mail reported that authorities discovered the dead bodies of Esmeralda Ferrer Garibay, her partner Roberto Carlos Gil Licea, as well as their 13-year-old son Gael Santiago and 7-year-old daughter Regina in an abandoned vehicle in Guadalajara.
"The scene was processed, and investigators found multiple pieces of evidence suggesting the family was killed there," prosecutor Alfonso Gutiérrez Santillán is quoted as saying.
"While the forensic results are not yet in, ballistic and blood evidence almost certainly confirm they were murdered at that location," he added.
Two individuals at a nearby mechanic's workshop got detained but were later released because of insufficient evidence, according to the media outlet.
The tragedy came just a few months after the family moved to the area for work.
Per Daily Mail, authorities reportedly believe that their murder had something to do with the business dealings of Licea, who focused on buying and selling vehicles and tomato farming in Michoacán state.
Garibay became known on social media as Esmeralda FG. Her content on her TikTok page, which has more than 40,000 followers and millions of views, focused on travel and lifestyle aside from lip sync videos.
