Janno Gibbs publicly apologizes for cheating on wife Bing Loyzaga
Veteran actor and OPM singer Janno Gibbs apologized to his wife, Bing Loyzaga, for his past infidelities.
In a vlog posted on their YouTube channel, the couple shared a heartfelt moment where they openly discussed their relationship journey and the lessons they've learned about forgiveness and resilience.
"Kulang ang 10 daliri ako. Sure ako, magaling ako," Loyzaga said.
"Parang sumobra naman ata?" Gibbs replied.
"Hindi, sure ako. Magaling ako eh, aminin mo naman 'yun," Loyzaga added.
Gibbs recalled a time he was caught cheating while on set. One of the women he was seeing called to ask if she could borrow his car, and he told her to visit him at work first.
"So pinasundo ko na, nasa taping ako noon sitcom. Dumating na yung driver ko, hindi second driver, driver mo [Bing], pagdating niya, 'Sir nasundo ko na po, nasa kotse po,'" he shared.
"Lumabas ako ng taping, pagkabukas ko ng van, syempre ineexpect ko yung pinasundo kong girl. Nandun yung girl, pero nandun din si Bing sa loob ng kotse. Lumabas yung kaluluwa ko [at] puso ko," Gibbs continued.
'For our peace, privacy, and children'
The couple's decision to keep their separation private was a conscious choice.
"After all the hurt, matagal tayong naghiwalay. I've said this in my latest interview, syempre of course, di namin pinapublicize. Tinatanong kami, 'okay naman' medyo pinagtatakpan namin dahil, not to lie to everyone, but for our peace, for our privacy, for our children," Gibbs noted.
"For our children. Para sa atin din. Kasi pag in-open mo yun, actually, hiwalay kami ngayon. So, ang strategy natin is to keep everything quiet. To keep it within the family. Di ba nga may kasabihan, never wash your dirty linens. Huwag maglalaban ng mga marurumi mo out of the house," Loyzaga said, lauding his husband's reason.
'I'm sorry for all the hurt that I've inflicted on you'
Gibbs acknowledged that he was a womanizer back then. But through their conversation, they wanted to amplify that cheating is never a good choice.
"Kilala akong ganyan... babaero, pabling—dati 'yan ang tawag. Kinukuwento namin ito not to make light of things, hindi para maliitin ang epekto, para pagtawan, most of all hindi para i-glorify ang pambababae."
He then turned to his wife, offering a sincere apology.
"And of course I have apologized to you one million times, and it will never be enough. I'd like the public to hear that I'm sorry for all the hurt that I've inflicted on you. I mean, you've heard it from me personally, but in front of them," Gibbs added.
Loyzaga, for her part, acknowledged the apology while emphasizing that their decision to speak about the issue was to share how they managed to overcome it as a couple."Thank you. I appreciate it. And, I would like to second also like you said, we are not discussing this to say na it's okay. Dini-discuss natin ito because we went through it and beyond it already."
Loyzaga also addressed other women who may be experiencing the same struggles in their relationships. She emphasized that acknowledging pain and standing up for oneself are crucial steps when faced with betrayal.
When Gibbs asked if they had already gotten back together, they joked that there was no more time to answer the question.
"We're so sorry wala na pong oras, sayang, maybe next time masasagot natin yan," he said.
Earlier in May 2024, Gibbs set the record straight that they never separated; instead, they had "bad moments."
"Never naman. We're married. We just have bad days, bad moments, 'di ba?" he said in an interview with Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.
"We're in a good place now, especially because of what happened to my dad. It was me and Bing who was there. Kami lang ang nakakita sa kaniya in his state," he saidd that time.
The two tied the knot in 1990. They have two daughters: Alyssa and Gabby.
