Billy Crawford shares how he missed the birth of his second child
Billy Crawford recalled how he missed the birth of his second baby with Coleen Garcia.
In his guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on Tuesday, Sept. 2, the singer-TV host opened up about how the birth of their newborn Austin happened so quickly last Aug. 17.
According to Billy, they were supposed to do a water birth like they did with their firstborn Amari.
"Hindi na siya umabot sa pool. Hindi na umabot. Actually, pati ako hindi umabot. I wasn't there when Austin was born. I was on the airplane on my way back home," he said.
In Coleen's post on Sept. 1, she shared that after "surprisingly painless pushes," she delivered Austin En Caul—a rare birth event when a baby was born still inside an intact amniotic sac.
"Sobrang bilis ng pangyayari. 12, 24 hours pa 'yan. [A] few minutes later, 'Ate gave birth.' So 'yun 'yung hindi ko alam kung anong gagawin ko but I just feel so happy, Tito Boy, so blessed," he said.
The Voice Kids PH 2024 host added that Amari often reminds him that he was not present during Austin's birth.
"Si Amari, hindi niya ako tinatantanan na araw-araw niya sinasabihan, 'You weren't there when Austin was born.' Oo, kaya masakit, masakit magsalita ang anak ko," he said with a laugh.
He added that there's an unreleased video of Amari looking for Billy while Coleen was going into labor.
"Sabi niya dun sa video, tumingin siya sa camera, sabi niya, 'Where's Billy?' Nawala na 'yung daddy, 'Where's Billy?' So 'yun ang pinaalala ng anak ko," he said.
Billy said that their firstborn is excited to be an older brother to Austin, noting that he's very gentle to his little brother.
The Trackin' singer also expressed his appreciation for his wife, saying she's "gorgeous in and out."
"That woman has given up everything, sacrificed her entire life for our kids and for me, especially, kaya 'yung support system ko, I have to do and I have to be more for her and for them," he mused.
Billy and Coleen tied the knot in Balesin Island in 2018. They welcomed Amari in 2020.
