Miss defending yourself from zombies invading your lawn with mutated plants? Get ready as a remastered version of Plants vs. Zombies is coming!

Electronic Arts announced during the recent Nintendo Direct presentation that Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted will be available for various consoles starting on October 23.

The classic game is touted to be "bigger, brighter, and crazier than ever before" with upscaled HD graphics and new secrets to uncover. Now, you can fend off waves of zombies in the original lane-based defense mode, but with added bonus levels and new content.

The remastered version also allows you to team up with a friend in local co-op mode to defend the backyard together. If you're feeling competitive, however, you can battle head-to-head in local PvP mode by taking control of the zombies themselves.

For a more challenging playthrough, you can test your skills in a brand new game feature called Cloudy Day Mode, where sunlight is limited and planting becomes a tactical challenge.

You can also try the hardcore mode called "Rest in Peace," which is a "permadeath" option for Adventure where one loss sends you right back to the beginning.

When you want to take a break from the main mode, you can relive classic minigames like Wall-Nut Bowling as well as a new "Art and Concept Library" featuring never-before-seen pre-production sketches and game history.

The game is now available for pre-order for Windows, Switch and Switch 2, Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam for $19.99 (P1,149).

Plants vs. Zombies first premiered in 2009 and has players taking the role of a homeowner amid a zombie apocalypse. As a horde of zombies approaches along several parallel lanes, the player must defend their home by placing plants, which fire projectiles at the undead.

It has been considered one of the greatest video games of all time and has expanded into multiple sequels such as Plants vs. Zombies Adventures, Plants vs. Zombies 2, and Plants vs. Zombies 3.
