Tetsuo Katipunan to close permanently on May 30

Published May 31, 2025 2:41 am

After eight years of serving up Japanese-inspired comfort food, including its famous fried chicken, Tetsuo's beloved Katipunan branch officially closes its doors on Friday, May 30.

The announcement marks the end of an era for a restaurant-slash-cultural hub. They wrote: "Our home of 8 years closes today, May 30, 2025. #TETSUOkatipunan at 88 E Abada St. was a wild ride and we’d like to thank all our friends and customers who supported us throughout those years."

Tetsuo continued: "We hope to see you sooner rather than later. Until then, here’s a look back at the very first day we opened our doors."

Opened in 2018, Tetsuo Katipunan quickly became a popular spot, celebrated for its neon-lit space, East Asian-inspired menu, and lively events.

Popular dishes included their Ginger Scallion Chicken + Soba, Karaage, Torched Salmon, and Furikake Fries.

Though the Katipunan branch closes permanently, Tetsuo's Poblacion branch remains open.
