A Romanian tennis player reported that her trophy was stolen from her hotel room in New York City while she was competing at the US Open.

Sorana Cirstea posted on her Instagram story that someone took the trophy she won during her Tennis in the Land tournament in Cleveland on Aug. 23.

“Whoever stole my Cleveland trophy from room 314 at The Fifty Sonesta please give it back!” the 35-year-old athlete wrote on Instagram story on Aug. 30.

“It has NO material value, just sentimental value. It would be (greatly) appreciated!” she added.

The tournament organizer reposted her Instagram story, saying, "We can't let you go home without any hardware!" Tennis in the Land said, adding that they "will make it right."

Cirstea's win marked her third career singles title.

Her previous singles titles came in 2021 and 2008—earning the latter just two years after she turned professional.

The Fifty Sonesta declined to comment on the matter, according to media outlets.
