According to a spokesperson for the festival, the Apollo 13 ride temporarily lost power at around 1 a.m. As a safety precaution, the ride automatically came to a halt, leaving up to four people dangling high in the air.
The ride, which is a traveling attraction that stands about 180 feet high, has a total capacity of eight people.
Despite the passengers being stuck, festival organizers stated that the incident was not a dangerous one.
"At no point were guests in any danger," a festival spokesperson said on the Daily Mail. "The ride has since undergone a full safety check and resumed normal operation."
Per the media outlet, the ride is "normally" one of the highlights of the music and surfing event, which attracts thousands of visitors each year. There are no reported casualties or injuries from it so far.
The Apollo 13 attraction, which debuted in 2024, has a history of sharing its maintenance process on its social media pages. An April post detailed some of the work done to ensure safety, including the removal of old grease, full visual inspections of all gears, and checking of the security of all light strips.
