Stay safe and dry, commuters.

The Department of Transportation announced in a Facebook post that it's offering "libreng sakay" on trains on Monday, July 21 due to inclement weather.

"Prayoridad ng Department of Transportation ang kaligtasan ng mga pasahero at tiyaking mabilis at ligtas silang makakauwi sa kanilang bahay, sa kabila ng malakas na pag-ulan at pagbaha sa ilang mga lugar sa Metro Manila," it wrote.

Later in the day, the MMDA also announced that the expanded number coding scheme has been suspended in the afternoon because of inclement weather.

"Mag-ingat sa pagmamaneho ngayong maulan at sundin ang batas trapiko para sa kaligtasan sa daan," it reminded the public.

The southwest monsoon or habagat is still bringing rains to Metro Manila and different parts of Luzon.

PAGASA said on Monday, July 21 that a low-pressure area is being monitored within the Philippine area of responsibility.

According to the state weather bureau, moderate to heavy rains are expected in Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro.
