The weekend is almost here, and so is August! Can you believe it? 

The "salt air season" (Swifties, IYKYK) is officially upon us, and there are already fun events for you to enjoy after a week full of deadlines.

July 31-Aug. 3: ArteFino Fair 2025

Start your holiday shopping early and discover the finest local craftsmanship at the ArteFino Fair 2025, which highlights high-quality and elegant products from over 100 Filipino brands. The fair is located at The Fifth at Rockwell from July 31 to Aug. 3.

Aug. 1: NOISEGARAGE! Take 1: Pink Inauguration

If you like watching independent movies, head over to Circulo Verde in Quezon City and join the NOISEGARAGE! Take 1: Pink Inauguration this Friday, Aug. 1.

They will screen Kenneth Anger's 1954 film Inauguration of the Pleasure Dome, Nick Deocampo's 1983 film Oliver, the 1972 film Pink Flamingos by John Waters, and the 2024 film RAMPAGE! (o ang parada) by Kukay Zinampan.

Regular tickets are priced at P300, and a discounted rate of P250 for students, seniors. and persons with disabilities. Reserve yours here; limited walk-in tickets are also available on site.

Aug. 1 to 3: Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy

Catch the finest figure skaters in Asia at the Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy 2025, happening from Aug. 1 to 5 at SM Skating Mall of Asia.

The event, sanctioned by the International Skating Union and the Asian Skating Union, kicks off the 2026 Winter Olympic season. It will gather over 170 athletes from 19 countries, including the Philippines, China, Indonesia, and Kazakhstan, among others.

Tickets are priced at P150 available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Aug. 1 to 3: Peter and The Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood at Solaire

Ballet Philippines is bringing the classic fairy tales Peter and the Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood to the stage in celebration of its 56th season.

This production marks a historic first in Philippine performing arts as Ballet Philippines collaborates with premier cultural institutions Repertory Philippines and the Manila Symphony Orchestra. The double-bill classics will only have five performances from Aug. 1 to 5 at the Theatre at Solaire.

The production is also a major community outreach initiative. Free seats will be given to families from selected barangays, aiming to make transformative performing arts accessible to underserved communities.

Premiere seats are also available for the general public. Proceeds will be used to sustain and expand future outreach efforts. Ticket prices range from P802 to P4,017.

Tickets are available via TicketWorld, the Solaire Box Office daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and through REP channels.

Aug. 2: Ju Ji-hoon’s fan meeting

Fans of Ju Ji-hoon are in for a treat as the K-drama star is bringing his Juniverse fan meeting to Newport Performing Arts Theater on Aug 2, 6 p.m.

Ticket prices range from P3,200 to P10,800. You may purchase it at SM Tickets outlets and online

Ji-hoon gained international recognition with his leading role in the television series Princess Hours in 2006. He also portrayed roles in The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, Love Your Enemy, Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds, and Light Shop, among others. 

Aug. 2 to 3: Merkado Market’s Luna y Sol

Discover local brands at Merkado Market's Luna y Sol bazaar this Aug. 2 to 3 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. You may check out clothing, thrifted finds, jewelry, lifestyle items, activities, and more. There will also be food and drink booths like Dear Cookie PH and Lemoncha.

After shopping, join the three-hour beginner's mixology class by Calamantita. The workshop is priced at P3,000, inclusive of a mixology tool kit, recipe cards, and a certificate.
