A weekend of fashion, art, and luxury takes over the Manila Marriott Hotel as it hosts the Marriott Moments A-Fair Luxuriant Expo and the 9th Calgary International Fashion & Arts Week (CIFAW) on July 26 and 27.
A key highlight of the weekend is the Philippine edition of the 9th CIFAW, which marks the launch of Philippine Fashion Weekend with the meaningful theme “Home.” Taking the spotlight as the only featured fashion brand is SCI PH, founded by Filipino-Canadians Limuel Hayag Vilela and Alvin Masangkay Francia.
Set to be presented alongside five world-class designers, SCI PH brings a fresh, culturally rooted perspective to the runway. With its bold aesthetic and a strong international presence—including standout debuts at New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week—SCI PH continues to champion Filipino talent on the global stage.
SCI PH will present a collection of distinct and modern occasionwear for both men and women—from bridal and pageant gowns to statement menswear and contemporary formalwear.

“Our aesthetic evolved through experience. It is clean but expressive; structured but emotional. We focus on silhouettes that feel powerful in motion, and details that speak softly but leave a lasting impression. In a world of noise, we design quiet statements—pieces that tell your story before you do,” Francia shares.
“Our focus is on versatility, soulful design, and craftsmanship that transcends trends. Our designs speak to modern women and men who want to feel powerful, polished, and authentically themselves. From beauty queens and creatives to professionals, brides, grooms, and individuals who appreciate subtle luxury, we dress people who believe in making a statement without needing to explain it,” says Vilela.
As dapper dressers themselves, the duo also caters to men who are bold enough to go beyond tradition and embrace fashion as personal expression; men who understand that confidence can live in the details. They are inspired by everyday icons—people with stories, purpose, and grace. Their muses are women and men who aren’t afraid to show up, speak up, and stand out. They also draw ideas from architecture, travel, film, and culture; anything that evokes emotion and memory.
'Unspoken: The Silhouette of Home' collection
For the CIFAW show, SCI PH will unleash a collection called “Unspoken: The Silhouette of Home.”
“It is a quiet tribute to the elegance of simplicity and the comfort of returning to one’s roots. This collection explores the unspoken language of fabric, form, and familiarity, where every line echoes the softness of belonging, and every piece whispers the story of home,” Francia shares.
“Crafted with intention and refined in detail, each silhouette blends effortless design with timeless quality. Inspired by the stillness of familiar spaces and the strength found in silence, this collection invites you to wear not just clothing, but comfort, memory, and meaning,” adds Francia. “Because not everything meaningful needs to be said.”
Vilela reveals more details: “This collection is rooted in quiet confidence—a reflection of those who lead not with noise, but with presence. The silhouettes are clean, structured, and refined: halter gowns with sculptural bows, off-shoulder drapes that frame the collarbone, and modern tailoring that honors tradition while stepping forward.”
“We chose luxe fabrics like Mikado and gazar—materials that hold form and move with grace,” he adds. “The palette is elegant and soft: whites, champagne, and warm neutrals designed to reflect light and emotion. Each look is imagined for life’s defining moments, be it a pageant, a wedding, or a red-carpet arrival.”
Vilela continues: “Menswear plays a key role in this vision. Gone are the plain, expected looks—we elevate with intricate beadwork, unexpected textures, and cuts that celebrate the male form with elegance. Because men deserve to stand out, too, with depth, detail, and undeniable confidence.”
The collection is available by appointment, with select pieces ready for immediate purchase post-show. SCI PH will also launch its online platform soon for made-to-order and bespoke clients, as well as everyday wear.
Curated capsule pieces and everyday wear by SCI PH can be found at SM City Daet, Camarines Norte, including formalwear, elevated daily pieces, and, starting recently, accessories that pair seamlessly with SCI PH apparel.
“We envision a Philippine fashion industry that is globally respected yet deeply rooted, where regional talents are uplifted, artisans are supported, and young designers are given real platforms to thrive,” Vilela says.
Francia echoes the sentiment: “Also, that we stop playing catch-up and start leading. Filipino design has soul and global appeal. I dream of more government-backed platforms, design incubators, and fashion tourism hubs—imagine T’nalak meets couture on global stages.”
