Korean veteran actor Choi Jung Woo passes away

South Korean veteran actor Choi Jung Woo has died. He was 68.

This was confirmed by Bless ENT, the actor's agency, via a statement released on Tuesday, May 27. 

The funeral will be held at Gimpo Woori Hospital Funeral Home, with the procession scheduled for May 29. The burial site will be in Suwon Yeonhwa Cemetery.

Choi, born in 1957, gained prominence as a theater actor in the 1975 play The Life of an Actor. He was also a voice actor who worked with various companies, including Shinsi and Tongyang Broadcasting Company. 

In the 2000s, he transitioned into making films and television series. Some of his notable films include Two Cops, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, The Chaser, and The Witch, as well as hit dramas such as The Painter of the Wind, Prosecutor Princess, Tree with Deep Roots, and My Daughter Seo-young, to name a few. 

Some of his recent works include the KBS2 drama Who Is She, which ended in January, The Tale of Lady Ok, A Place in the Sun, and supporting roles in hit K-dramas such as City Hunter, Doctor Stranger, and The Legend of the Blue Sea, among others.
