Janella Salvador, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Klea Pineda, and Leanne & Naara's Leanne Mamonong are starring in an upcoming sapphic film titled Open Endings.

Jasmine took to X to announce her latest project, which is part of this year's Cinemalaya Film Festival. She shared group selfies of the cast on May 25.

For her part, Janella expressed her excitement about the announcement.

"The way I've been holding this in for months," she wrote on X.

Open Endings, written by Keavy Eunice Vicente and directed by Nigel Santos, follows four queer women, who are exes-turned best friends. One of them makes an impulsive and potentially life-changing decision that puts their friendship to the test.

Other details about the stars' characters have yet to be revealed.

In 2024, Janella released the music video for her single Hey You wherein she and her Darna co-star Jane de Leon star as schoolmates who fall in love with each other. She has previously expressed interest in starring in a Girls Love project.

Meanwhile, Jasmine starred in the sapphic indie film Baka Bukas, which was directed by Samantha Lee.

Klea, on the other hand, came out as a member of the LGBTQ community in March 2023 and later revealed her relationship with her partner Katrice Kierulf.

The upcoming project will also serve as the film debut of Leanne, a musician who's part of the indie pop duo Leanne and Naara. They are known for their hits Again, New York and Back, Keeping Me Up, Who's Gonna Love You, and more.

In August 2024, Cinemalaya announced its lineup of full-length finalists, which includes Open Endings, Padamlágan by Jenn Romano, Paglilitis by Raymund Barcelon and Cheska Marfori, Republika ng Pipolipinas by Renei Dimla, and Warla by Arah Badayos and Kevin Z. Alambra.
