Comedian Bayani Casimiro Jr. of 'Okay Ka, Fairy Ko' fame dies at 57

Comedian Bayani Casimiro Jr., who starred in the sitcom Okay Ka, Fairy Ko in the late '80s, has died. He was 57.

Casimiro's sister Marilou confirmed his death to entertainment news website PEP.ph.

Born Arnulfo Casimiro on Aug. 15, 1967, he rose to fame as Prinsipe K in Okay Ka, Fairy Ko!, where he shared the screen with Vic Sotto, Tweetie de Leon, Ruby Rodriguez, and Alice Dixson, among others.

His father was the veteran comedian Bayani Casimiro, who was dubbed the "Fred Astaire of the Philippines" for his dancing and acting skills. The elder Casimiro originally played the role, but his son stepped in following his father's passing in 1989.

Casimiro reprised his role in the 1992 sequel, Okay Ka, Fairy Ko! Part 2.

He appeared in other films led by Sotto and became a regular in the Enteng Kabisote series, featuring in titles such as Enteng Kabisote: Okay Ka, Fairy Ko… The Legend (2004), Enteng Kabisote 2: Okay Ka, Fairy Ko… The Legend Continues (2005), Enteng Kabisote 3: Okay Ka, Fairy Ko: The Legend Goes On and On and On (2006), and Si Agimat at si Enteng Kabisote (2010).

According to IMDb, his other screen credits include Bakit Ka Ganyan? (Ewan ko nga ba, Darling), Asboobs: Asal Bobo, Fantastic Man, M.O.N.A.Y., Iskul Bukol: 20 Years After, Kristine, and Juanita Banana.

He eventually left showbiz and focused on graphic design.

According to Marilou, Casimiro's wake is being held at St. Peter Memorial Chapel in Parañaque.

He will be cremated and buried at Loyola Memorial Park in the city on July 30.
