Spotify PH increases premium subscription rates—here are the updated prices
Heads up, Spotify Premium users!
The music streaming platform has started rolling out its increased prices for premium subscriptions.
As seen on its website, the rate for individual users now costs P169 (from P149), the premium duo plan is now at P229 (from P199), while the premium student plan is now priced at P85 (from P75) per month. The family plan now has a monthly fee of P279 (from P239).
The updated prices have started reflecting on the accounts of new users as of writing.
On Monday, Aug. 4, Spotify announced the price hike in a press release as part of its effort to continue "to innovate on our product offerings and features and bring users the best experience."
It said that over the next month, premium users across South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region will receive an email "explaining what this update means for their subscriptions."
Premium users can enjoy the perks of ad-free music listening, download to listen offline, play songs in any order, listen with friends in real time, among others.
Spotify was launched in 2008. As of June 2025, it has 696 million users, including 276 million subscribers.
