LOOK: ABS-CBN, GMA executives meet with Liza Marcos for 'exciting project'
ABS-CBN and GMA Network executives met with First Lady Liza Marcos as they prepare for "something exciting" in the entertainment industry.
GMA Senior Vice President Annette Gozon-Valdes, Sparkle First Vice President and Head Joy Marcelo, ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak, and ABS-CBN COO Cory Vidanes attended the meeting at the First Lady's office on Thursday, Aug. 14.
"Cooking up something exciting for the Philippine entertainment scene," Marcos wrote in an Instagram post. "Our homegrown talents? They inspire, unite, and keep the whole country smiling," she added.
More details are still under wraps, but Sparkle GMA Artist Center teased on its social media posts that they are preparing "for an exciting project."
ABS-CBN and GMA first made a historic collaboration with the TV series, Unbreak My Heart, starring Jodi Sta. Maria, Joshua Garcia, Richard Yap, and Gabbi Garcia.
In April 2024, ABS-CBN's noontime show It's Showtime premiered on GMA.
The two also collaborated in the recent edition of reality-TV series Pinoy Big Brother, which welcomed GMA Sparkle artists for the first time. It hailed Mika Salamanca and Brent Manalo as the big winner duo.
GMA Network and ABS-CBN have long been rivals on free television until the latter’s failed bid for a new franchise in 2020. Since then, ABS-CBN has been focusing on producing shows online as a "content creator."
