Apple sets iPhone 17 launch date to Sept. 10
Mark your calendars! The iPhone 17 is coming soon.
Apple has set the date for its upcoming "Awe Dropping" event for Sept. 10, 1 a.m. Philippine time.
The tech giant is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 series, new Apple Watch models, a refreshed Apple TV 4K, the latest HomePod mini, and possibly, the AirPods Pro 3.
While the launch is happening in Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California, Filipinos can catch it via livestream on YouTube.
At the launch, analysts have speculated that Apple will introduce a new ultra-thin iPhone 17 to replace the current Plus model. Leaks suggest it would be called the iPhone 17 Air and would feature a redesigned back panel and repositioned camera.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also said that the variant's "currently known specs" include a 6.6-inch display, A19 chip, Dynamic Island, a Titanium-alloy metal frame, and a 5G chip.
In the 2024 "It's Glowtime" event, the tech giant peeled the wraps off the iPhone 16 series—consisting of the iPhone 16, 16 Pro, 16 Plus, and 16 Pro Max—fourth-generation AirPods and USB-C AirPods Max, and the Apple Watch Series 10.
Apple boasted that the iPhone 16 was its first device to be built on its artificial intelligence, Apple Intelligence. It featured bigger displays for the Pro versions, a repositioned camera array on the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, improved cameras, and a new Camera Control button for taking photos.
A budget iPhone 16e was released in February. Its features include Face ID and a notched screen (a first for a special edition iPhone); a 6.1-inch display; a 48MP Fusion camera at the back; a 26-hour battery life; and C1, the tech giant's first modem that supports 5G cellular connectivity.
