'Masakit, favorite ko eh': Claudine Barretto opens up about not being invited to niece Claudia's wedding
Claudine Barretto opened up about not being invited to the wedding of her niece, Claudia Barretto.
In an interview with Morly Alinio's YouTube show, the "Optimum Star" revealed that she wanted to be at Claudia and Basti Lorenzo's wedding. Claudine added that the 25-year-old was her favorite among her sister Marjorie Barretto's kids.
"May mga nagsasabi na bakit ako masyadong hurt, hindi rin na naman ako imbitado doon sa kasal ng anak ni Gretchen, hindi totoo yun. Imbitado po ako [sa kasal ni Dominique], may trabaho ako at hindi ko lang pwede hindian," she shared.
Asked if she was not invited to Claudia's wedding, Claudine said, "Yes... Masakit, favorite ko eh," she said, recounting giving Claudia her first Rolex and Cartier.
Beyond this, Claudine shared that she gives special presents to her nieces and nephews during milestones like weddings or births.
"May mga tinabi na ako para sa mga kasal [ng mga pamangkin] ko, 'push' gift kapag nanganak sila. May mga alahas akong tinabi para sa kanila. 'Yun lang sana 'yung gusto kong ibigay sana."
"Ang pinakaimportante sakin ay masaya 'yung pamangkin ko... For so many years, inuuna ko sila. and you know what, I don't care din. I really don't regret it, but I miss them," the 45-year-old actress expressed.
On the feud with her siblings
Claudine also talked about her sister Marjorie's loss in the 2025 elections, where she ran for First District of Caloocan City councilor.
"Masakit. Mahal ko ang kapatid ko. Maniwala man siya o hindi, sa dulo naman ng buhay natin, kapag humarap siya sa Diyos, masasabi ng Diyos sakin, mahal ka ng kapatid mo, sobra."
Asked about the feud between her siblings, Claudine admitted she didn't know why it hasn't been put to rest.
"Naniniwala ako sa generational curses. Siguro sa past life namin magulo lang talaga 'yung pamilya namin."
Moreover, Claudine shared that she's on good terms with her other sister, Gretchen Baretto, and engages in small talk when she meets with Marjorie once a year or every other year.
"Maayos man kami o hindi, ang pangarap ko 'yung maging happy sila at healthy sila always. At malaman nila na hindi ako kaaway, kakampi ako," she said.
"Mahal na mahal ko sila. Sana matandaan nila 'yung mga magandang pinagsamahan namin. Siguro nasaktan namin ang isa't isa sa mga maraming bagay, sa maraming beses, pero at the end of the day, ako pinagsisihan ko. Kung nasaktan ko mga ate ko, nag-sorry na naman ako eh. Tinanggap din naman nila yun."
Claudia married her longtime beau Basti in an intimate ceremony in Muntinlupa in April.
