Former Singaporean actress Carole Lin undergoes leg operation after missing a step

Former Singaporean actress Carole Lin learned that the hard way when she had to undergo an operation to fix her leg after she suffered from a serious injury for simply missing a step.
Lin posted a video of herself on her Instagram account attempting to walk using a walking frame, with her left leg covered in bandages. In the caption, she took the time to recount the "traumatic and graphic" incident that led to her surgery and hospitalization.
"I was walking along some shop houses looking for a place to have lunch. I was looking at a restaurant across the road and missed a step," Lin said.
"One foot went crashing down with unprepared awareness and went 'crack.' I found myself sitting on the ground with a sprained right ankle and on the left leg—a foot hanging lifeless... oozing blood, snapped fibula poking through my calf... and tibia shattered," she continued.
The former star recalled how she screamed for help after "shock and excruciating pain" quickly hit her.
"It was traumatic. But I’m still counting my blessings and I’m humbled by universe’s way of telling me there’s more out there to learn and appreciate. Most importantly: Please look where you are going!" Lin urged.
She is now resting at her home after being treated at the hospital. While she lamented how it will be "a long healing process," she remains positive about her health and is willing to take things "step by step" and "blessing by blessing."
"I thank all the angels who played a part in saving my leg. Some strangers, some [are] friends, family, and public services who did their best to help this soul in need," Lin highlighted.
Lin is known for being a finalist of Mediacorp’s talent competition Star Search in 1995. She later went on to star in successful television shows such as The Price of Peace.
Her last known role was in the 2013 series The Journey: A Voyage before she left the showbiz industry to work as a creative consultant for a chiropractic clinic.
